Today I went to see my ophthalmologist, which I do faithfully every year because I take hydroxychoroquine. This drug can cause blindness in very rare cases, but that is reversible if you catch it early enough. Hence my faithful visits to the ophthalmologist.
This medical visit was noteworthy because I did not get stuck with needles, have blood removed, or get infused with poisonous chemicals. In fact, the whole thing went quite smoothly, and the doctor declared me to be doing just fine.
So that counts as a win.
I take my wins where I can find them these days!

Photogenic cat: also a win |
I am reminded of a song that was popular in my childhood, whose lyrics were 'All I do is win, win, win, no matter what, what, what' - hope this holds true for you!
ReplyDeleteHooray for a pleasant appointment and chalking up another win! :-)
ReplyDeleteI also see an ophthalmologist pretty regularly. So far so good, but as a fellow writing systems fan, I'm curious about learning Braille just in case....
ReplyDeleteIt would certainly be a form of insurance!
DeleteNow you can reflect on the Halcyon Days of complaining about doctor visits and the waiting, waiting, waiting. Normal visits are now a treat! Btw, I thought I recall you saying you would be getting "immunotherapy" in the future and I thought that meant chemo, but now it seems I was wrong. It's something else, right?
ReplyDeleteI've been getting both chemo and immunotherapy, but now just immunotherapy. The former kills rapidly growing cells (and thus cancer cells) and the latter teaches the immune system to kill cancer cells.
